Change for the Better

For decades we’ve had a tradition of giving, with our employees and leadership helping to support the communities where we live and work in meaningful ways. Led by our Change for the Better Committee, we give our employees the time and resources needed to support the charities and causes that are most important to them, helping to improve the quality of life in our communities.

Our Community Partners

Whether it’s company-driven service days helping organizations we partner with or charities chosen by our employees, our priority on giving back is something we are extremely proud of.

Community Events

Our participation in community events that benefit non-profit organizations is employee driven.

Make-A-Wish: Walk for Wishes

On September 22, 2019, Sasser came together as a team for the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Walk for Wishes in Busse Woods.  As a Platinum Star Sponsor, we raised $3,976 for the walk.  In total, participants of the walk raised $163,771.60.  Make-A-Wish has a vision to grant the wish of every eligible child who is diagnosed with a critical illness. They believe a wish experience can be a game-changer in the lives of critically ill children.

Annual Walk MS 2019

Union Leasing pulled together to form Team Union to support loved ones, some of whom are our colleagues, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, an organization near to the hearts of several employees. Team Union has grown to include employees throughout Sasser, with more than $125,000 raised so far. In 2013 under the leadership of Kathie Jarzombek, a Union employee, we were recognized for our contributions with the Excellence in Team Fundraising for Walk MS Award.

Northern Illinois Food Bank

On Feb 27 2019, we joined forces with the Northern Illinois Food Bank to pack 14, 872 pounds of food providing 12,393 meals to our hungry neighbors. Relying on foundations and individuals to join in their vision that no one goes hungry, the Northern Illinois Food Bank is also a proud member of Feeding America – the source of nutritious food, innovative feeding programs, and hope for more than half a million people each year.
