Partners & Affiliates

At Union, we like to spend time outside of our workplaces pitching in to serve our industry, our community, and those who need support.

There are six charitable organizations we refer to as partners.  We have chosen them for various reasons; some because of our employees' personal connections to them, others because their work makes our own communities better, more caring places.

Our affiliates are quality business or industry-specific associations, which we support with our active membership, expertise, and leadership.

Partners

ChildServ

ChildServ is a child and family services organization, providing community-based programs to underserved children and families in the Illinois counties of Cook, Lake, and DuPage. ChildServ serves in our community through a comprehensive, tailored service program that truly helps children build, achieve, and sustain better lives. Union Leasing staffers volunteer with ChildServ, with activities that range from tutoring to taking children on fieldtrips.

Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation

The SBTF's mission is to improve the quality of life for brain tumor patients and their families and to raise funds for brain tumor research so that a cure can be found. For over a decade, the SBTF has been supporting critical, cutting edge brain tumor research at major medical centers in the Southeast. SBTF became a Union partner when one of our own was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2013. Since then, our employees have enthusiastically supported them.

Northern Illinois Food Bank

The Northern Illinois Food Bank helps feed over 60,000 individuals in need on a weekly basis in its 13 county service area. Food and funds are donated by food manufacturers, local groceries, corporations, foundations, and individuals. The NIFB depends on volunteers to evaluate and repack food for distribution to more than 600 network partners, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and youth and senior feeding programs.

Each year, the employees and spouses of Union Leasing pitch in at the Food Bank to sort and pack food to help supply meals to families in need.

National MS Society

MS is a debilitating disease that affects some 2.3 million people around the world. But when two Union employees were diagnosed with it just two years apart, we decided to help fight it together. Those with MS must overcome challenges everyday: to walk, to have energy to go to the store, to have the willpower not to give up. That is why we support the mission of the National MS Society by fundraising to support research, local programs, and to give hope to the individuals and families living with MS.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity's mission is to build homes, strengthen families, and enhance communities. The organization is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating, and preserving homes; advocating for fair and just housing policies; and providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Employees have pitched in to paint, till soil, and even dig garage foundations in support of this great organization.

Avenues for Independence

Avenues is a non-profit organization that provides homes, jobs, and community living programs to Chicago-area adults with physical, intellectual, and other developmental disabilities. It is their goal to provide work and living opportunities, enabling those with disabilities to be as independent as possible.

Sasser Family Holdings has supported Avenues since its inception. When Union joined Sasser, we became a key participant in the organization's annual Gorman Golf & Tennis Classic, an important fundraising event.
